Toilets in Cuba

TToilets in Cubaoilet paper is usually provided in all hotels rooms and casa particulars, but be warned…it’s not quite Andrex!

Whenever you use a toilet please place your toilet paper in the rubbish bin provided - DO NOT flush it down the toilet as this may block the sewerage system.

You may want to carry your own toilet paper, as not all toilets will supply it. Even good hotels will usually have an attendant sitting outside, who will provide sheets of toilet paper for a small tip – I suggest about 25 centavos.

You may find it useful to take along a supply of antiseptic hand-gel (i.e. water free soap).

Ladies, can I also suggest you also bring plastic bags to put your sanitary products in, (you can even buy discreet purple scented ones from the sanitary shelf at well-known supermarkets in the UK!)
