The place that I go to, when I want to get away from it all!
Cayo Levisa is an isolated little island accessible only by boat. The island is around 3km long and just several hundred metres wide. The entire northern shore of Cayo Levisa is one long stretch of white sand fronting a calm and startlingly turquoise blue sea. The beach is backed alternately by small stands of pine trees and stretches of thick mangrove. There's excellent bird-watching and scuba diving here.
There's not much to do here, but the location is stunning!
Where else could you open you front door, and walk straight out onto a pristine white beach? You need to get on a boat to get there, so it all adds to the feeling of being on a tropical Caribbean Island.
There is a Scuba Dive centre here, and you can also go on snorkelling & fishing trips.
Or just stroll along the beach – some deserted places to be found.
I have some very happy memories of this place...lovely staff.
Why we like this hotel:-
- For the tropical isaland setting & beach!
- For the massage on the beach
- Individual bungalows right on the beach, spread amongst the palm trees. Open your front door _ there is the beach!
- Relax and enjoy the sound of the ocean! Tranquility!
Hotel Cayo Levisa is situated on an isolated little island accessible only by boat, just 40 minutes drive from Viñales.
There are 33 rooms, which are a mixture of older brick cabana right on the beach, and newer, larger, wooden cabanas a few meters behind (but still right on the beach). All have large glass sliding doors.
What a View!
The chalets are pretty big, with two beds, satellite TV, and a bath room with hot water.
In our opinion, the best rooms to ask for are the single chalets, you get the most privacy.
Two double beds, a balcony and cable TV (should you want it), and a large modern bathroom.
Hotel Cayo Levisa as the biggest pool right in front of your doorstep!
The Caribbean Sea!
The Restaurant & Bar
There is a restaurant which serves fresh seafood & Cuban dishes, where you will eat dinner & breakfast, (all included in the price of the hotel), and a beach grill, where you will probably eat lunch.
There is a small shop on the island selling a few biscuits, rum and souvenirs. They may have sunscreen (but quite often they don’t!)
